East Riding College has launched a new website as part of its drive to improve the information available to prospective students.

The site was developed by Streamline-Media over a six month period and has now gone live.

Among the key aims of the site was to make it as simple as possible to navigate, easy to read and visually appealing.

It contains information on the more traditional courses offered by the College, such as full-time, part-time and higher education courses, and Apprenticeships.

It also has a section dedicated to East Riding College's work with employers, which is becoming increasingly important as part of the national agenda to increase skill levels in the workforce.

There is an area covering students' work and projects, including video and image uploads, and another giving details about the College, its staff and other information.

One of the key elements of the development of the site is a "content management system" which allows staff at the College to add content, without the need for IT expertise.

Matthew Croshaw, marketing and communications manager for the College, said: "We wanted our new website to be easy to find your way around, without masses of pages and reams and reams of content no-one ever reads."

"We've kept things to a minimum so people can find what they want quickly and simply, whether they're experienced on the internet or a bit of a novice."

"The way the website has been made allows us to update it regularly, so there's always something new for people to look at, and offers us huge potential for development in the future."
